Fugas Fresh Water Station: instant domestic hot water, efficient and safe
Designed for easy integration
A compact, pre-assembled module designed for easy system integration. The Fresh Water Station supplies domestic hot water via instantaneous heating, completely separated from the primary circuit and without storage, with electronic temperature control managed by a two-way modulating valve.
What's the Fresh Water Station?
definition
Fresh Water Station (FWS) is a system for the instantaneous heating of domestic hot water using a source of hot technical water, such as boilers, buffer tanks, heat pumps, solar thermal systems, district heating networks, or other energy sources. Via a plate heat exchanger, the FWS transfers only the heat required from the primary circuit to meet the instantaneous demand for domestic hot water.
How it works?
When domestic hot water is requested, the flow meter detects the draw-off and activates the primary pump. The electronic control board continuously modulates the Fugas two-way motorized valve, maintaining the domestic hot water temperature constant at the set value within the 42-60°C range. Domestic hot water is not stored but heated exclusively at the time of use.
main components
- Stepper motor-actuated two-way Fugas valve
- Brazed plate heat exchanger (available in various sizes)
- Electronic primary circulation pump
- Fugas sanitary flowmeter
- Electronic control board
- DHW temperature sensor
- EPP insulating shell
Why integrate the Fresh Water Station into your product?
Integration that creates value
Integrating the FWS Fugas means starting with a subsystem that is already engineered, tested, and equipped with its own control board. This reduces the development time for your finished product and enables you to offer the end customer a level of performance that is difficult to achieve with separate components. The main advantages are outlined below, organized by area.
Key benefits
No domestic hot water storage
With a reduced risk of bacterial proliferation and maximum hygiene.
Instantaneous domestic hot water production
Available only when requested by the user.
Optimized high energy efficiency
Thanks to the transfer of only the necessary heat from the primary circuit.
Stable and precise domestic hot water temperature
Ensured by the electronic control system and the Fugas modulating valve.
Compatibility with various heat sources
Including heat pumps, thermal storage units, boilers, solar thermal systems, and district heating.
Reduction of heat loss
Thanks to the absence of domestic hot water storage and the insulation of the components.
Simplified installation and reduced maintenance
Thanks to the pre-assembled solution, the limited number of components, and the absence of dedicated DHW tanks.
Application modularity
Because the modulating circuit can be integrated into both the complete Fresh Water Station and other system architectures.
Suitable for modern low-temperature systems
Particularly those powered by heat pumps and high-efficiency systems, ensuring optimal performance.
Modular scalability
Multiple FWS units can be connected in cascade to increase the available domestic hot water capacity while maintaining the same levels of efficiency and comfort.
Validated performance
certified healthcare comfort
Independent tests conducted at Eurac Research, using a methodology derived from Regulation (EU) No. 812/2011, have demonstrated coverage of load profiles M and L with a 22-plate heat exchanger, and of profile XL with a 36-plate heat exchanger.
- Configuration with 22-plate heat exchanger: covers M and L profiles
- Configurator with 36-plate heat exchanger: coverage up to the XL profile
The various configurations allow the FWS to be adapted to the system’s requirements, while maintaining high levels of domestic hot water comfort and temperature stability.
